Private View of the patch gallery’s latest exhibit - Meraki by Beth Holmes
Meraki, ‘to do something with soul, creativity or love; to put something of yourself in your work. To love what you do, is to do it well.’ Beth Holmes (b. 1995, UK). I am a painter based in West Mersea, UK. I studied Fine Art: Painting at The University of Brighton and graduated in 2018. My practice is concerned with the language of painting. Within the domain of abstraction, my visual dialogue aims to investigate the importance of gesture and the painted mark. I focus greatly on the therapeutic qualities a painting can evoke both for the artist and viewer. My process of picture making aims to allow a sense of identification through a visually stimulating language of texture and mark.
